1. Do you have siblings and are you close with them?


I have a younger sister and yesterday was her birthday! I think the older we get the closer we're getting


2. Would you rather be slightly UNDER weight or slightly OVER weight?

As long as its slightly in either direction I think I'm okay!



3. What's your favorite State Fair food to splurge on?

I love funnel cakes and caramel/candy apples!



4. What are your thoughts on your kid(s) going to school in a few weeks?

I don't have kids!



5. Pool or Ocean?

Ocean all the way baby!

I haven't done this in awhile but today I'm particiapting in Five Question Friday over at My Little Life

1. How close to your childhood dreams is your life now?


Close but not there. I wanted to be famous, be a well read author,  be married, be a college graduate and have kids. So far I'm a married college grad. I also wanted to live somewhere sunny and that is not currently home.



2. What is one must have item for the summer?

A lawn chair! I can layout in a tanktop and bitty shorts but I need something comfy to lay out in!



3. Do you have your kids stay up on school stuff during summer vacation? (Or, if you don't have kiddos, did your parents make you keep up on school stuff during summer?)

I love to read so I would always do the summer reading programs and we would occasionally do workbooks to keep us uptodate.





4. Do you can or freeze fresh produce?


Nope but I really want to learn. I'm the type of person  that needs a hands on lesson thought


5. Do you get ready for the day first thing in the morning?

Eh. On the weekday yes and then I check my email while my hair drys- weekend I lounge around gor a bit first, unless I have somewhere to be

2. What's your biggest pet peeve right now?

Hmmm...our mailman constantly delivering the wrong mail to our house.

4. If you did not have to worry about money or go to school what would you do for a living?

Volunteer for nonprofits and be a girl scout leader

5. What is your one "splurge" item, that you will always buy, no matter the cost?

Hmmm...I almost said books and then I thought about chocolate so I'd say it's a tie

5 Question Fridays

1. Do you feel guilty spending money on yourself?


Yes! I am really bad about this. My flip flop bedroom slippers are totally worn out and I need more page protctors for my "to try" recipe notebook, but I probably won't buy them until next month, and then I'll probably just get the slippers.
2. How well do you know your neighbors?

I know my neighbors from my childhood home fairly well. They always treated me like their children/grandchildren. Now, if you ask me who lives on my hall in the dorm I could probaly only name three people, and two of them would be my roomates.


3. What age are you looking forward to being?
This one! People are finally starting to stop asking me what colleges I'm looking at. I wonder if its the ring... 22 should be exciting because that'll be my my first year as a married woman.


4. Do you get excited when the mail comes? Why?

Haha, yes. I love seeing if I have any little suprises- especially on campus when clubs are trying to bribe us to attend events by placing candy in our mail boxes. And as soon as I finish my copy of Real Simple, I start looking for the next one



5. What is your earliest childhood memory?

Playing in the yard with weeds I thought were lettuce and being surrounded by 8-10 cats who followed me whereever I went. We lived in the country. (When my parents first bought our house, the street was just a number and was later given a name.)

This week's topic is DREAM HOUSE. What are 5 things about  your dream house?

1. I'd love to have a guest bedroom, so no more pullout couches or airbeds.

2. I dream of having a craft room. Someplace inspirational, yet fuctional. I want to be able to organize all of my supplies and have a place to create scrapbooks and cards

3. I'd like to have a porch so that I can sit outside and read. Or watch fireflies.  Screw this porch, I'll take this whole house:

4.I'd like to live somewhere we can have small bonfires, but not too far away from things that grocery shopping becomes a hassle:

5. I would love to have a walk in closet. Something like Carrie's on Sex and The City.

6.And last but not lease I want a  well stocked kitchen with a pantry.

What does your dream house look like?

1. Do you have any nicknames and if so how did it come about?

Mr. Groom calls me everything under the sun and I'm pretty sure they pop into his head randomly.

2. What is your birth order amongst your siblings?

There are two of us and I'm the oldest.


3. In a movie of your life, who would play your significant other?
 Someone hot like Orlando Bloom but someone funny like Robin Williams. Any suggestions for this combo? I'm going to ask him who he thinks when he gets off work!

4. What is currently your favorite song?

5. Are you saving your money for anything right now? Big or small purchase?

I'm saving up to buy wedding gifts for my bridesmaids.

Its time for 5 Question Friday with My Little Life! With the time difference I always forget to link up but hopefully I'll remember this week. Here are the questions:

1. What were your school colors?
High School- Blue and Green.
College Purple and Gold. Our mascot is the Valkyries.
2. What's the best compliment you ever received?

It probably had something to do with my writing. That, and Mr. Groom telling me he thought I was better at sharing than I said I was.


3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?

Charmin, usually.
4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or have you had one for someone else?
Yes! My 18th birthday was a suprise party. We played twister and had a cake fight. It was awesome


5. What is one material possession that you "can't live without"?
 
I've been without my laptop for a while now and I miss it. It's got all of my wedding planning, school stuff , writing stuff and recipes. I can't wait until the night of August 24th when I can charge it up and get everything sorted back out!

two things- been an exchange student in high school and learned a foreign language as a child. If I have kids they are going to learn when they're young.

Well.....I'll get back to you when  I have a kitchen/ Hopefully this fall.

5. Do you remember what your very first favorite song was?
Yes, I do.

1. What is one thing you miss the most about childhood?


Not having to worry about anything...now that was nice. Would I trade back? Probably not because so far its only gotten better

2. Are you still friends with your friends from high school?

I am friends with a few but we're not as close.


3. Is there a catch phrase, cliche, or word that just drives you bonkers every time you hear it?

I hate hate hate the use of "TY" for thank you. TY is a brand of beanie babies or the first name of the Extreme Makeover's host. It does not show your appreciation.

4. What is one thing that you think symbolizes America...besides "Old Glory"?

I've always loved the song My Country Tis of Thee...(and apple pie)

5. What are your 4th of July weekend plans?

As I'm in South Korea I'm going to miss out on all the cookouts and fireworks-which I love. Just means I have to do it up big next year (after all it'll be my first fourth as a mrs.). We'll probably go to the Meat Home (a buffet restaurant that specializes in meat) and get pizza on Sunday. Maybe call the folks.

Happy Friday everybody!

1. What is your favorite thing about summertime?


The excuse to have lots of icecream. And trips to the beach



2. What is your ideal retirement location (if money didn't matter)?
I would have many homes across the USA (east coast mountains and beach) and Europe (Scotland, Italy) as well as Australia. I


3. Do you live in the same town you grew up in?
I'm a college student so sort of. Currently I'm in Changwon, South Korea, in August I'll be in the Upstate of SC and in December I might be in PA

4. What nervous habit did you have as a child that you kicked to the curb before becoming an adult?
chewing on my hair....thank goodness...its totally gross!

5. What is the most embarrassing thing that happened to you while on the job?

Hmmmm. This is a toughie. Got it. Dropping a salad in a mans lap and then trying to clean it up. Yeah, I never wanna wait tables again.

Someone  you can trust, confide in, and sit around doing nothing with.

2. What is the last thing you bought & later regretted?
A $45 spa package. Luckily, I was able to resell it for the same price
3. Have you ever had a prank played on you?
yes, several. but at the moment I can't recall a specefic one

4. What is your favorite theme park?

Dollywood. I love the indoor rollercoaster .I also haven't been in ages

5. Have you ever seen someone else give birth?
 
No, and I don't plan on it.

Happy Happy Friday! Its Friday afternoon where I am so I'm going to go ahead and post these from My Little Life. I'll link up when its your Friday.

1. If you could go back to college would you change your major? Or, if you were to go to college right now...what major would you choose?


Doubtful. But I might add on Marketing, instead of just minoring, but then I wouldn't be able to graduate early.



2. What do you love most about your home?

Ummm....I don't have my own home yet, but I'm loving my dorms big closets. Right now, the best thing about the apartment in South Korea is that my hunny is here too.



3. What types of books do you like to read (if you like to read at all)?
Romance, mystery, historical fiction, fantasy, any combination of the above.


4. What is the grossest thing you've ever eaten?
Hmmm...taste wise or concept wise? Concept wise probably would be chocolate covered crickets or sushi, taste wise it would have to be either mayo green beans



5. If you HAD to be a character on a TV show, whom would you be?
 
Gilligan from Gilligan's Island. Hands down.

5 Question Friday 4 Days Late

I'm late with  5 question Friday at My Little Life, but I love answering questions so I figured I'd do it anyway. Besides, once you hear my travel disaster story you won't hold it against me.

1. Is there something you've always wanted to try but just can't muster up the courage to actually do yet?

 Ha. Several things- from skydiving to starting an Etsy shop. Ok the Etsy shop is mostly a motivational/time mangagement problem


2. If you had $100 handed to you in cash without your significant other knowing about it, what would you spend it on?

Hmm...usually I'd say books, but now it'd probably be his wedding gift


3. What was your favorite piece of playground equipment as a child?

Slides

4. Do you prefer a sweet or hearty breakfast? Usually sweet but lately (over the past year or so) I am not able to do sweet things early in the morning. But I always love choclate chip or reeses pancakes. And french toast. Just for dinner.

5. Are you a Neat Freak or a Messy Bessy?
 
I'm in between really. I hate messes and clutter, but I tend to get a little sloppy when I'm busy and then clean  it all up again.

2. What is your fondest memory of K-3rd grade?

Second grade was amazing. I had a wonderful teacher. Whenever my friends and I would get done with out work she would let us pick out and rehearse a play which we would later perform for the entire school!

3. What makes you cringe at the thought of touching?
cockroaches




4. If you could have any celebrity show up on your doorstep who would it be and why?

Oprah- and she would offer to pay for my wedding
Jim Parsons and Jonny Galecki (sp?)- because I absolutely adore them!



5. What would you say is your best physical feature?

Ummm. I always get complimented on my smile, so lets go with that.

Snapdragons. Theyre so unique and come in a range of colors .And when I was a kid I'd make up stories about them coming to life.

Don't listen to everyone's opinion about your relationship. All that matters is yours and his

1. Pay off my student loans.
2. Pay off his student loans.

5. Buy somewhere to live in greenville, and a house in the mountains

1. What is your worst memory of your siblings?


I was sitting on a barstool. My younger sister wanted my seat. She bit my hand and latched on. Then she picked up her feet and hung from my arm. She must've been about 4.


2. What was YOUR naughtiest childhood memory? (Must be something YOU did, no pawning it off on someone else!)

The thing that first comes to mind is kickiny friends older brother in the balls when he came to pick her up.

The beach, the pool, the lake....basically by the water
